Waiting Game
Well, right now Tau are a bit unviable. I think you could definitely still make a fun, playable army (especially if every model lit up), but they just aren't competitive right now. So, the tentative schedule was to start on them next summer, but the bulk of the work may not happen until the new codex comes out. Definitely I could begin work on a couple units of firewarriors, since they will go in any army. But will probably hold off on suits until later.

Color schemes
Inspiration
I already have most of an Ork army for 40K. I will be finishing this army this year and will need to get to work on my next army. I recently came across some awesome looking Tau over at the Work in Progress forums by a poster name PolkaDot from the Bay area. He has devised a method of integrating surface mount LEDs into firewarriors as displayed below.
I was speechless the first time I saw this image, and it got my creative juices flowing. So, starting next summer, this is my new project. I plan to create a diverse, display quality Tau army focusing on visual image quality rather than winning percentage. The army will probably have a commander, a unit of crisis, two units of firewarriors in Devilfish, a stealthsuit squad, a piranha, an ionhead, a railhead, and a unit of broadsides. Basically include anything that will look cool lit up. So, no kroot or vespid. I doubt all that will fit into a tournament legal army, but it will all look good. I'm still debating color scheme, but probably something similar to the Sa'cea sect in the codex. A bluish gray, urban look.

Firsts
This blog is a place to put my Games Workshop addiction and hobby interests. It will also hopefully serve to keep me guided and moving forward on my armies.
